2020-2021 Director of Nature Programing (seasonal) Camp Whippoorwill, Fairview, TN
· Responsible for training staff working with campers, developing programming, managing behavior,
and leading activities for teen camps.
· Maintained Nature Museum and nature collection
· Developed and led nature activities for children ages 6-16
· Safely and humanely handled native wildlife.
2014-2019 Naturalist and Wilderness Instructor (seasonal) YMCA Camp Widjiwagan, Ely, MN
· Led middle and high school-aged girls on back-country canoe and backpacking expeditions
in remote areas in the US and Canada, solo-led 38-day backpacking trip in
the Brooks Range of Alaska in 2019
· Taught groups of middle school students environmental and outdoor education, utilizing the woods of
northern Minnesota as a classroom
2017-2018 Post Graduate Associate Yale Child Study Center, New Haven, CT
· Developed and implemented photographic and visual literacy curriculum for children and families in
New Haven, CT and Grundy County, TN to develop skills in literacy, self-expression, and narrative
building. Worked with clinicians and community organizations to reach populations including women
refugees, autistic girls, and transgender children and adolescents.
2017 Consultant Spunk Foundation Photography Training Grant, Sewanee, TN
· Trained five teachers in Grundy County, TN on how to use photography and visual literacy with
their students. Reached out to schools and recruited teachers to participate in a weeklong
workshop taught by me. Following the workshop, I continued to offer support and direction for
teachers and planned an exhibition of work by students from all five schools.
2015-2016 Robinson Child and Family Resilience Post Baccalaureate Fellow Sewanee, TN
· Worked with Discover Together based in Tracy City, TN, a collaborative organization between
University of the South, Yale University, and Scholastic Inc. Assisted in teaching and other duties
with Family Co-Op, a program for children 0-5 and caregivers with a focus on literacy. Wrote and
implemented curriculum for weekly after school program for 2-8 grade students. Started and ran
an after school photography/storytelling program for elementary aged students that has continued
to be run by successive fellows.
Volunteer Experience
2019 Art Guide Fifth Grade Art Experience, Missoula Art Museum, Missoula, MT
· Attended five art guide trainings and led weekly tours for Missoula fifth graders through
exhibition at the Missoula Art Museum, which include facilitating activities and group discussions.
Docent Students Teaching Students, MMAC, Missoula, MT
· Guided tours of exhibitions at the Montana Museum of Art and Culture for introductory writing classes at the University of Montana.
